"You may not achieve rank by physical ability alone but must also develop the proper attitude."
Seikichi Toguchi, Shorei-kan Goju-ryu Master

I study at a traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu karate school in Round Rock, TX, headed by Sensei Ty Yocham. I started studying there in October, 1996. My most recent promotion was to Shodan on January 19th, 2002.

This school is a member of the Texas Okinawan Goju-Kai Karate Federation, headed by Shihan Dean Chapman in Dallas. We trace our lineage back to the Shorei Kan division of Goju Ryu, founded by Seikichi Toguchi, although we are no longer affiliated with the Shorei Kan group. Sensei Toguchi studied under Chojun Miyagi, the founder of the Goju Ryu system.

The TOGKF is now associated with the Kokusai Okinawa Butoryu Gohokan Karatedo Kyokai under Shinshi Ron Goninan, as well as being the Texas representatives of the Okinawan Matsusokan Karate-jutsu Kyokai under Hanshi Anthony Sandoval.
